My Dog Skip
It is a film that captures the emotions and love of a shy boy who grew up in Mississippi in the 1940s with the help of his beloved dog. This boy lives with his dog, where ultimately, it is the dog's love that teaches the boy daily life-long lessons that continue to be a true lesson in the life of the boy and those around him.

Not a mawkish dying-dog tearjerker, "My Dog Skip" carries a touch of Mark Twain, with quasi-dangerous tall tales and awareness of a gap between childhood and boyhood. Plus, as it's said of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," there's cussin' in it.January 01, 2000
